The low power requirement of a Taggle telemetry unit at a water meter allows automatic flow meter reading without expensive power supplies. A single Taggle base-station can handle thousands of Taggle telemetry units, at distances up to 10km in rural areas. Taggle-based soil moisture probes use the same base-station infrastructure as Taggle flow meters. The low cost of a Taggle soil moisture probe allows many more probes to be used, so that water can be applied only where it is needed. If a location system is deployed, where a Taggle is detected by 3 or more base-stations, then Taggles can be used to monitor the progress of travelling irrigators. This allows alerts to be sent when the irrigator stops unexpectedly, or reaches the end of its run. | ![]() |
